Supplemental Instruction (SI) covers courses in Biology (BIOL150, BIOL151, BIOL240a,b, BIOL250, BIOL319), Business (MS250, MS251), Chemistry (CHEM113, CHEM120a,b, CHEM241a,b), Engineering (ECE210), Mathematics (MTH145; MTH152), and Physics (PHYS131, PHYS132, PHYS141, PHYS142, PHYS151, PHYS152).

 

We need motivated students with good communication and time management skills, leadership ability, and good knowledge of the course content to cover courses for Summer through Spring semesters. Please refer to Cougar net course schedules.

 

Students work about 10 hours per week (summer varies); this includes attending all class lectures, holding three sessions and an office hour per week, attending bi-weekly leader meetings, preparing for sessions, and completing paperwork. We hire both undergraduate and graduate students. Starting pay is $9.10 per hour.

 

Being an SI leader is a rewarding experience. The leader becomes an "expert" in the course content, which can help with upper level courses. This position can be counted as a Co-op or Internship with transcript recognition and included on a resume. Leaders gain and improve leadership and communication skills.
